These are the positions we currently offer at Twirlbound. Our current fulltime occupation is Pine.

Internship: C# Programmer

Pine’s core simulation systems and solid action adventure gameplay are built on the shoulders of our technical team. With many intriguing responses emerging from the ever-stirring ecology, it’s important to build up all mechanics and systems diligently and with an eye on expansion and opportunity. And we are looking for an intern to help with that!

We work on Pine fulltime in a small, dedicated team in which a lot of brainstorming defines the shape of the experience. Everyone is involved on a low and high level, making sure we maintain a coherent vision for the final product.

Requirements
  • HBO / applied science university-level education
  • Proficiency in C#
  • Knowledge of GIT
  • Experience with Unity
  • Solid understanding of systemic design
  • Fluent in English
  • Commitment for 3 to 6 months
Preferences
  • Affinity, experience or proficiency with game design
  • Mathematical knowledge
  • Console development knowledge
  • Experience with Scrum or other planning methodologies
  • Familiar with optimisation and minimising garbage in C#
  • Experience in the industry
What you'll be doing
  • Working through and directly in Pine’s codebase
  • Engaging in code reviews with the other programmers
  • Developing, analyzing and bolstering Pine’s systems and mechanics
  • Developing and maintaining tools for content and debugging
  • Thinking along on all aspects of Pine (including design and art)
  • Solve technical problems in and around the project

Internship: 3D Environment Artist

Pine’s medium-sized open world is full of life, quite literally. The environments around the dozens of organisms roaming the island need to support the world players dive into. Forests, swamps, dunes, mountains but also villages and old ruins make for a lush, varied world to explore. We are looking for interns to help us make that world as pretty and believable as possible!

We work on Pine fulltime in a small, dedicated team in which a lot of brainstorming defines the shape of the experience. Everyone is involved on a low and high level, making sure we maintain a coherent vision for the final product.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in Maya or 3DS Max
  • Proficiency in Photoshop
  • Experiences with Substance Designer and Substance Painter
  • Experience with Unity
  • Experience with stylized art styles
  • Fluent in English
  • Commitment for 3 to 6 months
Preferences
  • Knowledge of SVN and GIT
  • Affinity, experience or proficiency with game design
  • Proficiency in concept art or drawing
  • Experience with Scrum or other planning methodologies
  • Experience in the industry
What you'll be doing
  • Modeling and texturing 3D environment assets (nature and villages)
  • Making environment assets game-ready through optimization and LODing
  • Working with the art team to further develop the coherent visual language used throughout all assets and visual execution
  • Setdressing the world of Pine
