These are the positions we currently offer at Twirlbound. For all of our internships, we offer basic compensation for expenses. Our current fulltime occupation is Pine.

Internship: Content Designer

Pine’s world is defined by the content inside. Its simulation-driven island is composed many stories, small and large, built through our tailored quest system, while sidesteps in the form of traversal puzzles and interesting locations make the game a coherent whole.

We work on Pine fulltime in a small, dedicated team in which a lot of brainstorming defines the shape of the experience. Everyone is involved on a low and high level, making sure we maintain a coherent vision for the final product.

Requirements
  • HBO / applied science university-level education
  • Experience with Unity
  • Strong (visual) communication skills, basic proficiency in visual software to express ideas and concepts
  • Solid understanding of systemic design
  • Fluent in English
  • Commitment for 3 to 6 months
Preferences
  • Knowledge of SVN/GIT
  • Advanced proficiency in visual software
  • Mathematical knowledge
  • Proficiency in level design
  • Experience with Scrum or other planning methodologies
What you'll be doing
  • Working on and building quests
  • Create interesting sidesteps and content on the island
  • Critically assess existing systems and designs to improve overall quality
  • A bit of playtesting and debugging along with the entire team
  • Thinking along on all aspects of Pine (including technology and art)
  • Solve content-related problems in and around the project

Internship: 3D Environment Artist

Pine’s medium-sized open world is full of life, quite literally. The environments around the dozens of organisms roaming the island need to support the world players dive into. Forests, swamps, dunes, mountains but also villages and old ruins make for a lush, varied world to explore. We are looking for interns to help us make that world as pretty and believable as possible!

We work on Pine fulltime in a small, dedicated team in which a lot of brainstorming defines the shape of the experience. Everyone is involved on a low and high level, making sure we maintain a coherent vision for the final product.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in Maya or 3DS Max
  • Proficiency in Photoshop
  • Experiences with Substance Designer and Substance Painter
  • Experience with Unity
  • Experience with stylized art styles
  • Fluent in English
  • Commitment for 3 to 6 months
Preferences
  • Knowledge of SVN and GIT
  • Affinity, experience or proficiency with game design
  • Proficiency in concept art or drawing
  • Experience with Scrum or other planning methodologies
  • Experience in the industry
What you'll be doing
  • Modeling and texturing 3D environment assets (nature and villages)
  • Making environment assets game-ready through optimization and LODing
  • Working with the art team to further develop the coherent visual language used throughout all assets and visual execution
  • Setdressing the world of Pine
